Is Alkaline Water Effective? What Medical Doctors Say...
September 27, 2021
Have you ever given a little thought to what we humans are meant to eat? The only food that's healthy for us?
It took 18 years from the day I first reached out for raw food, when the truth hit me. We are born to eat fresh raw organic fruits and vegetables!
With my salad or green smoothie, I like to throw in 2 tablespoons of nuts or ground seeds for extra fat.
Some time during the day I try to eat a bowl of cooked beans (half-cup to a cup for my 55 kg or 120 lbs) with a pseudo-grain like cooked buckwheat or quinoa. This bowl is my extra protein and calories (filler food).
Green juice I'd love to drink daily, but won't spare the time to make it. Actually juices are more for healing.
If you're eating anything else — and I mean *anything* else — then you're dumping too much acid into your body. I know of only 2 ways to protect yourself from such folly — drink alkaline water from a water ionizer, and juice leafy greens.
If you eat only raw living foods daily, then you don't need alkaline water. I don't use an Ionizer because I've slowly evolved into 95% raw. I eat tons of fruit and leafy greens. Read more in Do Rawfooders Need an Ionizer?
How a Water Ionizer Works
A water Ionizer — also called a water alkalizer or alkaline water filter — is the best thing in water filters. It gives you fresh alkaline water.
- An electric water Ionizer will purify your water more finely than any other water filter — with the newest filtering technology of tourmaline and hollow tubular membranes, in addition to using carbon and pleated fibers; see high-quality water filter specs.
- Then the Ionizer passes the pure water over electrodes that separate out the alkaline minerals, so you get high-oxygen alkaline water; see how alkaline water benefits us.
Water Ionizers for Health
We know there are three steps to healing and lifelong high health:
- Happiness — feeling good, responding with faith and love to life's challenges, every day is a simple joy when you feel clean inside and nourished;
- Good Nutrition — giving your cells the atoms they need to perform their chemical reactions;
- Good Cleansing — get rid of the acid waste clogging your cells. Would you pour a heap of rubble on you to get ready for work? Yet we think nothing of doing it to our cells.
What does every particle of waste have in common? They're all acids. Pesticides, preservatives, fatty acids, cholesterol, uric acid, acetic acid, ammonia, even carbonic acid from breathing — we're an acid waste dump inside.
Every single activity in every cell produces acid waste. Then we eat acid foods like there was no tomorrow.
Alkaline Water & Greens
What's the solution? What's the quickest way to clean your body so your cells will WORK at peak performance? Simple, get rid of the acid.
How to do that? I know of only two ways:
- Drink alkaline water daily — with a water Ionizer — a low-cost one is the Ionpod, and
- Drink green juices often — use a low-cost juicer like the one here under Juicing designed to juice green leaves and grasses.
With a drink, there's no digestive process creating new acids. Is anything quicker than turning on your faucet?
It's hard to alkalize through food — even raw food — because we don't digest and oxidize our food properly. All those undigested food particles are? you guessed it, acid. Read about it here in How We Oxidize Food.
Water Ionizers Buffer Acids
New York Professor Felicia Drury Kliment writes in The Acid Alkaline Balance Diet © 2002:
"Acidic wastes are the common denominator in all degenerative diseases.
Wherever these wastes accumulate, they cause nearby organs to malfunction and degenerate."
Longevity expert Terry Grossman, M.D., points out on his website:
"By drinking alkaline water, you combat metabolic acidosis and improve absorption of nutrients."
Acid wastes clog capillaries, prevent nutrients and oxygen from reaching every cell. This is the pre-cursor of cancer — a starved cell turns malignant.
When you drink alkaline water from a water Ionizer, the alkaline minerals are absorbed right into your blood and cells where they're needed.
As soon as these alkaline minerals buffer the acids, your kidneys and lungs can dispose of them.
Cells Need Alkaline Water
Our internal body must stay slightly alkaline at 7.4. When there's too much acid around — too many hydrogen ions — our body steals alkaline minerals:
- from our bones and teeth (calcium),
- from our muscles and nerves (potassium),
- from our arteries (magnesium) and
- from our joints (sodium)
to keep the fluids in and around the cells alkaline.
We get cavities, nervous stress, heart problems and arthritis from the loss of these alkaline minerals.
But with a water Ionizer, you get the alkaline minerals from pure water. No need for your body to steal them from tissues!
Any spare minerals in the alkaline water are greedily used by your bones and teeth, arteries and joints, and central nervous system, to build new tissue and to relay brain signals.
Alkaline Water for Brain
Sang Whang writes in Reverse Aging © 1990:
"Japanese doctors claim that drinking alkaline water can change a depressed mood into a brighter, calmer mood."
It makes sense. In alkaline water from a water Ionizer, your brain gets the potassium and sodium it needs to sparkle! Every nerve signal depends on the flow of these two alkaline minerals. No minerals => no signals => result is depression, an inability to respond.
Dr. Theodore A. Baroody writes in his book of the ominous title Alkalize or Die: Superior Health Through Proper Alkaline-Acid Balance © 1991:
"I have administered over 5,000 gallons of alkaline water for every health situation imaginable. This technology [water Ionizers] will change the way all health care providers and the public approach their health.
My suggestion is to drink restructured alkaline water whenever possible."
Alkaline Water Quenches Free Radicals
Dr. Baroody continues in Alkalize or Die:
"Acid wastes literally attack the joints, tissues, muscles, organs and glands causing minor to major dysfunction."
All acids are free radicals. But help is on the way! Ray Kurzweil and Terry Grossman, M.D. authors of the longevity book, Fantastic Voyage: Live Long Enough to Live Forever, write on their website:
"The negative ions in alkaline water from a water Ionizer are a rich source of electrons that can be donated to free radicals in the body, stopping them from damaging healthy tissues."
It's the ORP of alkaline water — Oxygen Reduction Potential. Read more here. It's far healthier to drink your anti-oxidants than to swallow supplements. Pills lead to imbalances in your metabolic pathways.
Water Ionizers in Hospitals
Gabriel Cousens, M.D., writes in Conscious Eating, © 2000:
"Japanese and some American hospital research has found ionized alkaline water useful for the treatment of cancer, diabetes, intestinal problems, liver problems, and other chronic diseases.
Alkalinized ionized water can play a powerful role in reversing the degenerative results of an acid system. This is a revolutionary health breakthrough."
To me, a water Ionizer for alkaline water daily, is a necessity in every cooked-food kitchen. Our air, water and food is so polluted. Even organic food is watered with acid rain.
We don't have time to juice green drinks daily, but we always have time to turn the faucet on!
Do we look at what it costs? Or how much it will save us. Have you ever been hit by the high cost of medical bills? Switching to raw food has saved me countless dollars in dental bills. I once spent thousands on root canals. Today I never get a single cavity. My dentist is past history.
